But for such an essential service that we all need at some point, there are sadly some plumbers in Glasgow who either do things at a lower quality or simply don’t have the skill to do the job properly.
You would be amazed at how many times we are called up by customers in the West End who have used another plumber and been dramatically let down.
And that is exactly what has happened last week.
It may not be an exciting picture but if you look at the white circle in the middle of the drain pipe, you will see that it is a large ball of silicone. What can only be described as a complete idiot of a plumber decided that rather than remove the opening in the pipe and fix it, they simply gummed it up with silicone. This was behind a kitchen cabinet and had been leaking for ages.
Poor quality plumbers may save you a few quid in the short term but will always cost you more in the long run.
The pipe in the picture was spotted by the home owner because the leak had caused permanent water damage and warping to their wooden kitchen cabinets.
